General Description of the PositionDelaware State University
Graduate Education Office seeks outstanding applicants for a
Administrative Secretary in the Graduate Education Office. We

to success in this position. Ability to work under limited
supervision, to be responsible for the performance of
administrative work, involving the exercise of judgment and/or the
supervision of clerical staff. The selected candidate will directly
report to the Program Director.Essential Functions & Required
Knowledge, Skills and AbilitiesThe following are the functions
essential to performing this job:1. Assists in onboarding new
cohorts, including gathering data, organizing orientation
activities, updating the student handbook, etc.2. Supports
day-to-day office operations3. Supports development of forms and
protocols, maintenance of program's electronic archives, and data
gathering projects4. Supports organization of events for student
and alumni engagement, outreach, and recruitment5. Manages
program's social media presence and performs essential updates to
the program website6. Conducts online research on marketing
options, outreach opportunities, and competitor programs7. The
position provides additional programmatic support as needed8.
Communicates with national and international program contacts.9.
Tracks program expenditures and may participate in the budget
preparation process.10. May draft, edit, and process grant
proposals.11. Maintains the record of students' academic
progressOther Functions:Individuals in this job may be assigned one
or more of the following tasks on a rotating or as-needed basis.1.
Perform minor research or statistical work, as assigned.2. Be
responsible for the safety and security of departmental records,
and valuable documents.3. Be responsible for the safety, repair,
maintenance, and inventory of division's equipment.4. Some overtime
and weekend work required.Required Knowledge, Skills, and
Abilities:The individual in this job must possess these skills and
abilities or be able to explain and demonstrate that they can
perform the essential functions of the job, with or without
reasonable accommodation, using some other combination of skills
and abilities:1. Proficiency in Microsoft Office 365.2. Experience
with Online Student Information Systems (SIS) such as Banner.3.
Experience in social media engagement.4. Collaborate with various
university support units to advance the needs of Delaware State
University and its students and instructors.Qualification
Standards1. A strong work ethic, excellent communication, and
interpersonal skills, and the ability to work on multiple fronts
and in a fast-paced environment are key to being successful in this
position2. Education: High school graduate, plus two (2) years post
high school training in a business program (equivalent office
experience may be substituted for education).3. Successful
experience: At least three years of office experience in a
college/university setting or combination of experience and
education in the area or office management.4. Type at a rate of 45
net words per minute.5. Other preferences: Bachelor's Degree in
