Job Description Job Description Job Summary: As a Maintenance Technician at PRL Industries, you will play a crucial role in maintaining the functionality of our facilities and supporting our operational efficiency. This position involves a diverse range of maintenance activities both inside and outside the PRL Industries’ shops. Responsibilities include troubleshooting electronic and mechanical equipment, performing general building maintenance, and assisting with construction tasks. Additionally, a key aspect of this role will be contributing to the development and management of our computerized maintenance management system, Upkeep with a focus on preventive maintenance. Your ability to adapt and manage different tasks will be essential to our operations. Job Qualifications: Education: High school diploma preferred. Experience: Experience in maintenance roles within industrial, mechanical, or machining environments is desirable. Light carpentry, plumbing, electrical work, and construction skills are highly valuable. An appropriate combination of education and experience will be considered. Skills: Proficient in using various tools and equipment related to maintenance and construction. Strong troubleshooting skills for electronic and mechanical systems. Ability to follow verbal and written instructions, with proficiency in reading and writing in English. Capable of working independently with minimal supervision. Knowledge of safety procedures and best practices in a maintenance environment. Familiarity with computerized maintenance management systems is a plus. Job Duties and Responsibilities: - Conduct routine electronic and mechanical equipment maintenance and repairs to ensure optimal performance. - Perform preventive maintenance inspections, safety inspections, and any other inspections deemed necessary by management to ensure efficient and safe practices in all locations. - Manage grounds maintenance, including mowing, trimming, debris removal, propane delivery, and any outside services necessary to complete the preceding tasks. - Assist in constructing and modifying shipping containers as needed, ensuring adherence to specifications. - Monitor building security and safety, including locking doors and ensuring electrical appliances are used safely. - Handle material transportation, including manually moving furniture and equipment or using hand trucks and forklifts. - Execute painting tasks for walls, trim, equipment, and other surfaces as required. - Record maintenance activities and report repair needs to the supervisor. - Enter all completed work into the Upkeep system, ensuring accurate and timely documentation of tasks. - Collaborate with the management team to develop and enhance the Upkeep system for future efficiency and effectiveness. - Operate handheld grinders and other power tools necessary to complete all job duties, following safety and operational guidelines. - Adhere to all safety policies and procedures while performing job duties. - Perform other duties as assigned to support the maintenance team and overall operations. Physical and Mental Efforts: This role requires extensive mobility, including moderate to heavy lifting. You must be able to occasionally lift objects weighing over 50 pounds, walk and stand for extended periods, and maintain focus on tasks for 45 to 60 minutes at a time. The position demands the ability to concentrate amidst background noise and respond effectively to various work demands. General: Finding the right individual for this position is essential, as you will contribute to daily maintenance tasks and play a vital role in optimizing our maintenance management processes for the future.
