Job Description Job Description Bachelor's or Master's degree in Special Education, active Special Education Teacher license and minimum 1 years Special Education Teacher experience required. A Washington, DC-based educational institution is seeking a dedicated Special Education Teacher to support students across various grade levels including Elementary, Middle, High School, and Early Childhood. This contract position offers the opportunity to make a meaningful impact by providing specialized instruction tailored to diverse learner needs. Key Responsibilities: Develop and implement individualized education plans (IEPs) for students with special needs Collaborate with general education teachers, parents, and specialists to enhance student learning and inclusion Utilize specialized instructional strategies and adapt curriculum to meet the needs of diverse learners Monitor student progress and adjust teaching methods accordingly Maintain accurate documentation and communicate regularly with stakeholders regarding student performance and challenges Create a supportive and nurturing classroom environment that promotes student growth and self-advocacy Desired Qualifications: Valid teaching certification in Special Education Experience teaching students in Elementary, Middle, and High School settings, as well as Early Childhood education preferred Knowledge of current practices and legal requirements related to special education Strong communication, organizational, and classroom management skills Ability to collaborate effectively with a multidisciplinary team Commitment to fostering an inclusive learning environment Location: Washington, DC This contract role provides an opportunity to work in a dynamic educational setting focused on empowering students with special needs.
