Job Summary:

Engineering managers direct and coordinate activities related to design, operations, quality assurance, testing, or manufacturing of products. They are responsible for developing the overall concept of a new product or for solving the technical problems. To accomplish this, they must determine technical goals and produce detailed plans. Engineering managers confer with other managers, including those in finance, production, and marketing, as well as with contractors and equipment and materials suppliers. They must know how to prepare budgets, hire staff, and supervise employees. They propose budgets for projects and programs and determine staff, training, and equipment needs.

*Essential Functions:

Manage engineers and designers in the research, design, development, and evaluation of products, and systems

Develop processes, policies, and procedures and ensure all engineering projects align with the organization's objectives

Collaborate with other engineering disciplines, project manager, management, sales and marketing, and related departments as necessary to determine engineering feasibility, cost effectiveness, and demand for engineering products and services

Manage engineering verification activities to ensure product deliverables are met on-time and conform to the organization's and/or client's specifications

Advise leadership and other impacted departments on product or design changes which may affect profit, schedule, cost, or client relationships

Responsible for hiring, firing, performance appraisals, and pay reviews

Must be able to access shared database with government programs and access all physical areas of the facility (U.S. Citizen or Permanent Resident of the U.S.)

Bachelor's Degree in an Engineering discipline; plus, at least eight years of relevant engineering experience and at least one year of leadership responsibility

Demonstrated aptitude for time management skills; ability to handle multiple tasks; set priorities and meet deadlines within established budget

Proficient in Office 365; experience with ERP systems and Engineering applications, e.g., SolidWorks, Creo, AutoCad, Windchill, etc.

Demonstrated ability to successfully manage direct reports; lead cross-functional teams, and problem-solve
