technicians help solve technical problems in many ways. They build
or set up equipment, conduct experiments, and collect data and
calculate results. They might also help to make a model of new
equipment. Some technicians work in quality control, where they
check products, do tests, and collect data. *Essential Job
Functions: Understand, practice, and support safety standards in
all work and in all locations Assist engineers by performing
analysis, testing, and support of machines, tools, equipment, and
mechanical systems Troubleshoot product designs and suggest or
implement improvements Repair, rework, or modify mechanical
assemblies to meet operational specifications and tolerances Assist
engineers with fabricating and assembling mechanical prototype
models from blueprints, schematics, or sketches Conduct functional
and operational tests to evaluate performance and reliability of
prototype or production models Work with engineers to perform root
cause and failure analysis as required May provide support to
manufacturing to ensure product is created to engineering

assignments Possesses advanced skill set within discipline Works
under minimal supervision with considerable latitude for
independent judgment May mentor less-experienced peers and assist
supervisors, but does not formally supervise others Qualifications:
Must be able to access shared database with government programs and
all physical areas of the facility (U.S. Citizen or Permanent
Resident of the U.S.) Requires high school/trade school education;
Associates Degree in an engineering technology program,
certification, or professional training preferred Required
Experience: Associate level 0-1 year; Intermediate level 1-3 years;
Senior level 3-5 years; Advanced 5+ years Demonstrated, effective
ability with CAD software & experience or ability to learn ERP
systems Demonstrated, strong communication skills; both verbal and
written Demonstrated ability to collaborate well with peers and
cross-functional teams and external customers Demonstrated,
successful ability to problem-solve Demonstrated, successful
ability for information gathering, documenting, & reporting Work
