Job Summary:
Manufacturing Engineers focus on applying engineering principles to
the development and implementation of manufacturing processes,
equipment & tools. Incumbents must coordinate with design engineers
and other support teams to ensure efficient production of
products.
Essential Job Duties:
Research, design, and develop the organization's manufacturing and
fabrication methods, tools, and systems
Evaluate product design for manufacturability and suggest design
process adjustments and quality improvements
Engage in the selection, development, and testing of tools,
fixtures, machinery, and equipment used in manufacturing
Investigate manufacturing processes for cost reduction
opportunities
Analyze workflow, space requirements, and equipment layout in order
to maximize efficiency
Collaborate cross-functionally with design, engineering, process,
and/or production teams to meet quality, productivity, and cost
objectives
Requires moderate skillsets
Conducts tasks and assignments as directed
Works under moderate supervision with some latitude for independent
judgment
NPI
Execute global product industrialization and process transfer to
plant operations
Support stage gate process and execute manufacturing prototype,
pilot and process development of new products, product changes, and
enhancements in coordination with the NPD engineering,
Manufacturing, Supply Chain and Quality organizations
Develop process documentation (assembly procedures, test
procedures, process flows, and pFMEAs) in conjunction with
manufacturing engineering, while researching, defining, and
implementing new manufacturing technologies.
Utilize Lean manufacturing methods, processes, and tools for new
products. Establish process controls and opportunities for
mistake-proofing.
Partner with product development staff to ensure that products
under development are designed for assembly, test, and inspection
by application of best practices with NPI
checklists/requirements.
Communicate project status, schedule progress and key project
metrics through scorecard presentations, action items and meeting
minutes, and productions readiness reviews with core team and
leadership.
Assure the stable manufacturability of new products by supporting
the NPD design, qualification, optimization, and validation of
processes and tooling via execution of AQ/IQ/OQ/PQ, gauge R&R
studies, process capability studies and designs of experiments.

Qualifications:
Must be able to work on government contracts directly or access
shared data resources (U.S. Citizen or Permanent Resident of the
U.S.)
Bachelor of Science degree in an Engineering discipline and at
least 4 years of related experience; or an equivalent combination
of STEM related degree and experience
Proven Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts,
and draw valid conclusions
Demonstrated time management skills; ability to handle multiple
tasks, set priorities and meet deadlines
Knowledge of or ability to learn all operations utilizing the
equipment in assigned area
Must have knowledge of Microsoft Excel, Word, and related software
applications; order processing systems; project management
software, manufacturing software and database software
