Job Summary:



Entry-level position within the engineering field. Routine engineering tasks are performed as directed by the Engineering Manager. The incumbent in this position will contribute to specific objectives and outcomes.


Responsibilities:




Design




Utilize established engineering principles in the design and evaluation of mechanical components


Design, create, and repair mechanical components or sub-assemblies using applied mechanical engineering principles, including solid and fluid mechanics, thermodynamics, and heat transfer


Create prototypes and conduct testing to ensure design performs as expected


Work with fabrication and manufacturing departments to ensure final design is properly executed in the creation of mechanical products








Create and interpret blueprints, technical drawings, and schematics


Use drafting tools or computer-aided design (CAD)/drafting equipment and software in design work


May manage project schedules and budgets


May evaluate the cost and maintenance requirements of design











Qualifications:



ust be able to access shared database with government programs (U.S. Citizen or Permanent Resident of the U.S.)
Bachelor of Science Degree in Engineering, or related field of study; 1-3 years of experience performing similar tasks is preferred






Structural Engineering discipline may require P.E. certification


Proficiency with word processing software; spreadsheet software; intermediate CAD & basic 3D modeling


Demonstrated, strong communication skills, both verbal and written


Demonstrated ability to collaborate well with peers and cross-functional teams and external customers
