Chemours is seeking a Chemical Process Engineer to join our growing Engineering Technology team! This full-time position will report directly to the Engineering Senior Manager and is located at Chemours headquarters in Wilmington, DE or remotely near manufacturing sites in the mid-Ohio Valley, Tennessee Valley, Carolinas or Gulf Coast regions.

The successful candidate will join a diverse team of technical experts who provide high-value, innovative engineering solutions to Chemours global chemical businesses in support of research and development, manufacturing, and capital project initiatives.

The responsibilities of the position include, but are not limited to, the following:

  • Provide solutions to process challenges encountered in chemical manufacturing operations including those associated with heat transfer and separations in liquid, vapor, and mixed phase systems.
  • Analyze system performance, troubleshoot operation, identify root causes for failures, and develop improvement opportunities for chemical processes.
  • Actively seek and consider implementation of new process technologies that provide advantages in cost of operation, capacity, and sustainability.
  • Develop process models that enhance understanding of observed phenomena and guide improvement of operating conditions or design of new systems.
  • Conduct techno-economic analyses for proposed changes in operations or new processes.
  • Provide engineering expertise and training on reaction vessels, distillation columns, decanters, heat exchangers, and other operations where heat and mass transfer are critical.


    The following is required for this role:
    • Accredited degree in chemical engineering (BS or MS) and 3+ years of relevant post-degree work experience
    • Experience troubleshooting challenges in operation and providing direct technical support for chemical manufacturing sites
    • Experience in specification, design, commissioning, and startup of new equipment
    • Expertise in flowsheet development and process modeling with Aspen Plus
    • Proficiency in developing economic models for chemical processes
    • A valid passport and ability to sustain a travel rate of 10 - 20% (mostly domestic)


      The following is preferred for this role:
      • Expertise with a broad suite of modeling tools relevant to chemical processes (e.g., HTRI, AFT Arrow/Fathom, Ansys Fluent, OLI, Excel)
      • Experience with the Microsoft Power Platform including Power BI, Power Apps, and Power Automate
      • Experience utilizing heat integration methods to identify energy reduction opportunities
      • Familiarity with computing languages relevant to engineering (e.g., Python, MATLAB, FORTRAN, C++)

        Pay Range (in local currency):
        $93,184.00 - $145,600.00

        Chemours Level:
        25

        Annual Bonus Target:
        8%
