Join the ChristianaCare family for endless personal and professional growth opportunities while collaborating alongside our development and clinical experts to create innovative solutions that positively impact our community's health and well-being.Primary function:As a Senior Network Engineer, your primary role involves designing, and implementing network solutions, particularly focusing on Extreme Networks hardware, for routing and switching. You will be responsible for maintaining and optimizing network performance, including troubleshooting and resolving complex issues. A significant part of your role includes managing network security, ensuring data protection through robust security protocols. You will provide technical leadership, guiding project management and mentoring junior staff. Additionally, you will collaborate with vendors, manage network capacity planning, and develop disaster recovery strategies. Staying ahead of the latest networking technologies and trends, especially in relation to Extreme Networks best practices. Ensuring Network efficiency and reliability are at the forefront of this role's responsibilities, working toward minimizing downtime and ensuring stable operations of our Infrastructure. -This role does require some on-site work, and it is a hybrid role.Principal duties and responsibilities:

• Design, implement, and manage network solutions using Extreme Networks routing and switching equipment (Universal switches, Core Fabric familiarity)
• Ensure network performance by conducting network monitoring and analysis, and performance tuning, troubleshooting network problems, escalating problems to vendor.
• Secure network systems by establishing and enforcing policies and defining and monitoring access.
• Update job knowledge by participating in educational opportunities, reading professional publications, maintaining personal networks, and participating in professional organizations.
• Collaborate with team members and other departments to meet company needs and objectives.Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree in computer science, Information Technology, or related field, or work experience equivalent.
  • Minimum 5 years of experience in network engineering, with specific experience in Extreme Networks hardware.
  • Solid grasp of networking protocols (e.g., IPSEC, HSRP, BGP, OSPF, 802.11, QoS), and a familiarity with Extreme Core Fabric.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Superb communication and teamwork skills.Preferred skills:Certifications in network engineering (e.g., Extreme Switching, Extreme Campus Fabric, Extreme Cloud IQ - Site Engine, or Extreme Control).ChristianaCare Offers:
