Job Description:
Position Purpose: The Global MRO & Spare Parts Program is
responsible for developing and executing a global strategy for
maintenance, repair, and operations (MRO) and spare parts
management across all company sites. This role ensures the
optimization of spare parts availability, cost efficiency, supplier
performance, inventory accuracy, and lifecycle management, aligned
with operational, reliability,and procurement objectives. The
Global Lead serves as the central authority on MRO Partnership,
governance, standards, systems, and best practices.
Responsibilities Strategic Leadership & Governance Develop and
implement the global MRO & spare parts strategy to support site
operational reliability, cost control, and asset lifecycle
objectives. Establish global standards, policies, and KPIs for MRO,
inventory control, stocking strategies, part criticality, and
supplier governance. Spearhead transformative initiatives in the
global MRO sector, with a focus on unifying processes,
consolidating resources, and implementing digital solutions across
various regions to enhance efficiency and effectiveness. Inventory
& Supply Chain Optimization Develop strategy and drive optimization
of spare-parts inventory levels across the network, including
safety stock, min/max, reorder points, and criticality
classifications. Implement best-in-class inventory management
methodologies (ABC/XYZ, risk analysis, reliability-based spares,
VMI/CMI, consignment, etc.). Reduce obsolete, dormant, and excess
inventory while ensuring service-level targets for maintenance and
operations. Lead global forecasting, demand planning, and long-term
parts availability strategies. Supplier & Category Management
Develop and manage global strategies for MRO and spare part
partnerships, including categorizing materials and services,
optimizing vendor relationships, and creating standardized contract
templates for consistency and compliance. Negotiate strategic
agreements with global sourcing, regional, and local suppliers to
ensure cost competitiveness and supply assurance. Monitor and audit
the global or regional partnership against KPIs (OTD, quality,
reliability, lead time, total cost). Partner with procurement and
finance to drive category savings and execute sourcing initiatives.
Operational Excellence Assist support sites in enhancing storeroom
operations by streamlining workflows and ensuring global
compliance. Collaborate with global and site maintenance,
reliability, and engineering teams to identify critical spare
parts, improve Bills of Materials (BOM), and align equipment with
stock levels. Develop Master Data standards on part naming,
classification, and taxonomy, ensuring high catalog quality.
Promote a culture of continuous improvement through Lean, Six
Sigma, and reliability engineering principles to optimize processes
and boost operational efficiency. Digitalization & Systems
Ownership Oversee the global implementation and enhancement of
CMMS, ERP, EAM solutions, and supply chain platforms, focusing on
spare parts management. Drive the development of digital MRO
capabilities by integrating IoT for parts forecasting, utilizing
predictive analytics for maintenance, and employing AI for optimal
inventory management. Ensure data integrity and manage global
reporting initiatives, developing analytics dashboards that provide
actionable insights for leadership decision-making.
Cross-Functional Leadership & Collaboration Act as the global point
of contact for all MRO & spare parts initiatives. Facilitate
knowledge sharing across regions, including best practices,
training, and capability building. Collaborate closely with Site
Operations, Maintenance, Reliability, Finance, Engineering,
Procurement, and IT. Financial & Performance Management Assistance
to sites in identifying cost-saving initiatives through spare parts
standardization. Track performance metrics such as inventory turns,
service levels, stockouts, supplier performance, and cost
reduction. Present global performance and improvement plans to
executive leadership. Qualifications and Experience Education
Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Supply Chain Management,
Operations Management, or related field required. A master’s degree
or an MBA is a plus. Certifications such as CMRP, CRL, APICS
CSCP/CPIM, or Six Sigma are advantageous. Experience 7 years of
experience in MRO, spare parts management, supply chain,
procurement, or reliability in a complex, multi-site organization
within a pharmaceutical or similar regulated industry. Extensive
experience managing globally distributed teams and influencing
senior stakeholders in complex organizations. Includes governance
and strategic portfolio management aligned with organizational
goals. Demonstrated success implementing reliability programs at
scale and improving asset performance using structured
methodologies. Experience with global or multi-site technical
support preferred. Strong technical capability in root cause
analysis, predictive diagnostics, risk management, and equipment
lifecycle management. Proficiency with CMMS systems and SAP PM
preferred. Experience facilitating training, workshops, or
capability development programs. Ability to travel globally based
on business needs. Expertise in GMP/non-GMP utilities and
facilities related to pharmaceutical production. The expected base
salary range for this position at hiring is $131,000 - $160,000.
Please note this salary range reflects the minimum and maximum base
pay that CSL expects to pay for this position at the listed
location as of the time of this posting. Individual base salary for
a successful candidate is determined by qualifications, skill
level, experience, competencies and other relevant factors. In
addition to base salary, total compensation for this role may also
include incentive compensation and equity. Different qualifications
or responsibilities may apply based on local legal and/or
