Job Description:
The Vice President, Business Development (VP) is responsible for
assisting in the development and execution of Cinnaire's business
development strategy with a focus on lending and customer
relationship management. The VP researches and identifies business
opportunities, markets Cinnaire's lending products, negotiates
business terms and secures commitments. The VP is responsible for
developing and managing relationships with key clients and partners
and working collaboratively to achieve common goals, In addition,
the VP will act as a subject matter expert in Affordable Lending,
and serve as a critical resource for the Business Development and
Lending Teams in researching new lending opportunities and
developing lending and customer relationship strategies across
Cinnaire's footprint.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
Analyzes market needs and identifies opportunities for Cinnaire to
deploy its lending products in support of Cinnaire's mission.
Builds relationships with real estate developers, public officials
and staff, and non-profit and private sector partners to identify
needs and business opportunities.
Conducts initial analyses of loan transactions.
Works with underwriting analysts and lending team to ensure timely
responses to clients, including letters of intent and
applications.
Negotiates business terms with clients and secures signed
commitments from letters of intent.
Maintains overall relationship management of client throughout life
cycle of the transaction.
Acts as subject matter expert in affordable lending and trains
Business Development staff on lending products and loan
analysis.
Supports Business Development team in researching new lending
opportunities and developing lending and customer relationship
strategies.
Maintains deep knowledge of real estate market dynamics,
competition, Cinnaire product parameters, policy developments, and
industry trends.
Speaks on conference panels and at public meetings to raise
awareness of Cinnaire and our products and services.
Qualifications and Skills:
Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience required; Master's
degree preferred.
Ten or more years of progressive related work experience.
Excellent understanding of Fannie Mae, Freddie Mac, FHA and RD
mortgage loan terms and underwriting parameters.
Experience managing the origination and/or underwriting of
affordable multifamily loan products.
Ability to identify factors that differ from standard underwriting
criteria and mitigants to such factors.
Deep knowledge of real estate market dynamics and
fundamentals.
Understanding of affordable housing/community development programs
including LIHTC, HOME, NMTC, AHP and CDBG.

Reporting Relationship: Reports to Executive Vice President,
Business Development
Supervisory Relationship: None.
Physical Requirements:
Ability to work on a computer for extended periods of time.
Travel Required: 40%
