Primarily NightshiftSummary: Builds and develops a highly effective
and engaged Sanitation team that strives to provide exceptional
internal customer service.Compliance with FDA and GFSI standards
and ensure SSOP are accurate and carried out with adherence to food
safety/hygienic manufacturing practices. Management of the Master
Sanitation Schedule and coordination of all team activities.
Provide leadership and management to all sanitation-related
services cost-effectively with minimal disruption to production.
Serves as a change agent and provides technical leadership and
hands-on mentoring for the Sanitation team. Must be
bilingual-Spanish and English. Jobs/Duties or
ResponsibilitiesMulti-site responsibility to plan, prioritize,
assign, supervise, review, and participate in the work of staff
responsible for sanitation of processing equipment and
facilities-coordinate activities with other departments, service
providers, contractors, and temporary staffing
agencies.GeneralDevelop and implement sanitation programs;
establish schedules and methods for sanitation services to include
Daily, Weekly, and Non-Weekly MSS. Ensure sanitation procedures and
practices comply with federal, state, and GFSI guidance.
SafetyMaintain safety training records for all Sanitation personnel
on LOTO, Chemical Safety, proper use of PPE, etc., and actively
lead with safety first. Audit ComplianceConducts routine internal
inspections of the process equipment, building, and grounds, both
internal and external, for compliance with company standards, as
well as FDA, State & GFSI audit schemesKeeps facilities audit-ready
at all timesPerformance/TrainingDevelops and maintains Sanitation
Standard Operating Procedures (SSOP), which effectively meet
pre-operational requirements (pre-op inspections & passing ATP
tests), provides or coordinates ongoing training, and ensures the
development of the sanitation crew.Mentors and keep track of new
employees' training as well as annual refresher training for all
sanitation staff under the following subjects:o LOTOo Confined
spaceo Proper usage of sanitation equipmento Chemical dosing
procedureso Use of proper PPEo Sanitation trainingo Good
Manufacturing PracticesCost ManagementDevelop and maintain
operating budgets for labor and materials. Deliver objectives on
time within the approved budget for the Sanitation
Department.Reorder/maintains inventory for all sanitation tools and
consumables (chemicals, cleaning supplies, etc.).Research and
prepares cost estimates and business justification for sanitation
capital improvement projects and repairs, tools/equipment purchase,
and modification of equipment/buildings.DocumentationPrepares all
sanitation-related documentation, equipment, and facilities for
third-party audits to ensure passing with satisfactory or better
ratings.Complies with regulatory documentation
requirementsStaffing/AccountabilityLead/support the hiring of
external candidates to maintain the master sanitation, staffing
model. Maintain records of KPI, such as MSS completion rate, pre-op
pass rate, environmental pass rate, OT, and chemical
consumption.Keeper of HR policy for the sanitation department.
Responsible for the proper administration of accountability for all
sanitation personnel for attendance, code of conduct, and
performance-related issues.Leadership DevelopmentBuilds and
develops a highly effective and engaged sanitation team that
strives to provide exceptional internal customer
service.Responsible for mentoring, developing, and coaching all
levels of the sanitation department by establishing processes,
procedures, and guidelines for the sanitation team to leverage.
Accountable for the professional development of the sanitation
leadership team.Display a high level of servant leadership.
Identify and remove obstacles in the way of the sanitation team
being successful.Pest Control ProgramMaintain an integrated pest
control program.Ensure that pesticides used are approved for use in
an organic facility and on the approved chemical usage
list.Coordinate the corrective and preventive actions with the pest
control provider for adverse trends.Monitor and review pest
provider's performance.
