Job Summary: The Benefits and Compensation Manager is responsible
for directing and planning the day-to-day operations of group
benefits programs (group health, dental, vision, short-term and
long-term disability, life insurance, travel and accident plan,
flexible spending plan, health savings account plan, retirement
plans, etc.), as well as guiding administration of the company's
compensation program and championing our Wellbeing program.
The Benefits and Compensation Manager will be tasked with
identifying new benefits programs, evaluating and improving
existing programs, and supervising and monitoring benefits
administration.
Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
Benefits programs:
- Coordinating with Insurance Brokers as appropriate, research
employee benefits plans and vendors to identify those that present
the best value
- Designing, recommending and implementing new benefits
programs
- Negotiating with vendors and administrators for best plans,
options and rates
- Serving as the primary contact for plan vendors and third-party
administrators
- Overseeing the transfer of data to external contacts for
services, premiums and plan administration
- Ensuring compliance with applicable government regulations.
Ensuring timeliness and accuracy of required reporting and
fees
- Overseeing daily benefits processing. Handling enrollments,
COBRA, terminations, changes, beneficiaries, disability, accident
and death claims, rollovers, QDROs, QMCSOs, distributions, loans,
hardships and compliance testing
- Overseeing maintenance of employee benefits files, maintain
group benefits database and update employee payroll records
- Gathering employee data and overseeing the processing of
monthly billings and the preparation of vouchers for payment of
administrative fees for all group plans
- Providing customer service support to internal and external
customers. Developing communication tools to enhance employees
understanding of, and appreciation for, the company's benefits
package
- Championing Pyle's Wellness program. Monitoring industry trends
and coordinating with Wellbeing vendors to evaluate and recommend
programs
Compensation programs:
- Conducting job analyses to determine the appropriate salary
levels according to compensation guidelines
- Advising management on compensation actions for employees
- Analyzing organizational pay practices and making
recommendations for salary changes to ensure equity
- Partnering with external compensation consultants to:
- Recommend changes to compensation policies, as needed, to
establish and maintain competitive rates
- Analyze, complete and conduct compensation surveys
- Assist in the development and updating of salary ranges
- Using software designed for this purpose, monitor the
marketplace to ensure compensation programs are competitive and
appropriately positioned
Do you have what it takes?
Job Requirements:
- Bachelor's Degree in Human Resources, Business, Finance, or
related field
- Five years' experience administering benefits programs
- Certified Benefits Professional, SHRM-CP or SHRM SCP strongly
preferred
- Demonstrate Pyle's Culture; excellent verbal and written
communication skills
- Computer proficiency and technical aptitude with the ability to
use Microsoft products, including PowerPoint; experience with HRIS
and benefits databases. Familiarity with Ultimate Kronos Group HRIS
preferred
- Proven ability to work effectively in a team environment
- Ability to manage several complex projects simultaneously while
working under pressure to meet deadlines; excellent time management
skills with a proven ability to meet deadlines.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills; attention to
detail
- Ability to understand, evaluate and make judgment on proposals
(RFPs)
- Knowledge of benefits contract language
- Knowledge of pertinent federal and state regulations, filing
and compliance requirements, both adopted and pending, affecting
employee benefits programs, including the ACA, ERISA, COBRA, FMLA,
ADA, Section 125, HIPAA, Medicare, COBRA, and Social Security and
DOL requirements.
Travel:
- Up to 15% -20% of time Physical Requirements:
- While performing the duties of this position, the employee is
frequently required to sit, talk or hear. Occasionally, the
employee will need to stand, walk, climb stairs, and drive a
vehicle. This is mainly an office based position.
- The special vision requirement is close vision in order to work
on a computer screen for extended periods of time.
