For more information visit ILCDover.com and follow us on LinkedIn.Job Summary: The Environmental Health and Safety (EHS) Manager is responsible for developing, implementing, and overseeing ILC Dover EHS program and will implement policies to ensure a safe and healthy work environment. The EHS Manager will champion and partner with all parts of the organization to increase the level of EHS performance EHS initiatives to reduce lagging indicators (Injury Rates) and focus on driving the organization toward leading indicators (Preventative Actions and Proactive strategies). Essential Responsibilities: Supervisory Responsibilities:Manages others by influence. Lead EHS Consultants for project specific work. Manage vendors providing EHS MRO items and EHS servicesFunctional Responsibilities:Deliver continuous and sustainable improvements in EHS Performance in ILC Dover regional/global facilitiesProvide exceptional leadership to plant management team. Identify trends in site incident, near miss events, including key performance indicatorsAssists with implementation, rollout, and daily use of EHS Management SystemFacilitates and champion of incident reporting system (incidents, near misses, environmental events, etc) and manages Corrective Action and Preventative Actions (CAPA) system and communicates progress for CAPA closureCollaborate with plant and manufacturing engineers to assess safety processes, systems, safety organization and culture and agree on improvement plans.Demonstrate strong leadership skills in driving accountability with management teams through effective communicationInspects the facility to identify safety, health, and environmental risks.Develops and implements EHS policies, inspection practices and procedures to comply with regulatory obligations and best practices.Develops and owns emergency response policies and proceduresPrepares and schedules training to cover emergency procedures, workplace safety, and other relevant topics.Manages hazardous waste processCompiles data for annual multimedia environmental reporting (Air, Waste, Water)Ensures that safety data sheets are maintained and readily accessible when neededOther duties as assigned Minimum Qualifications:Bachelor's degree in occupational safety, Environmental Safety, Occupational Safety and Health, or related field required, Master's degree desirableExperience and familiarity with Lean concepts and driving Key Performance Indicators (KPI) 5-7+ years of related experience preferred; with 2-3 years of experience in a supervisory or managerial experience preferredPossess or have the ability to receive recognized professional certifications (i.e. ASP/CSP, CIH, CHMM, ARM etc.)Extensive knowledge of environmental, health and safety regulations and policiesExcellent analytical and problem-solving skillsExcellent written and verbal communication skillsExcellent organizational skills and attention to detailProven ability to build strong partnerships with cross-function teams within a matrix organizationProven ability to manage projects and process focused on continuous improvement with the long-term ability to build resources and direct teamsExperience working in production floor environment with the ability to be an active presence among plant/facility management and support teamsFamiliar with EHS Management SystemsProficient in conducted Risk Assessments and Incident InvestigationsFamiliar with Industrial Hygiene concepts Proficient in technology and equipment used in environmental inspectionsProficient in Microsoft Office Suite or similar softwarePhysically able to conduct inspections and carry equipment used for inspectionsMust be able to lift up to 25 pounds at a time Work Environment: The work environment characteristics described here are representative of those an employee encounters while performing the essential functions of this job.
