• Bachelor's degree required or equivalent work experience
  
• Experience in medical devices or medical technology is an essential requirement
  
• A minimum of 6 years professional experience in strategic sourcing or purchasing function
  
• Procurement skills and category experience is required
  
• Strong negotiation and project management skills
  
• Ability to analyze and present financial data
  
• Experience in New Product Development is a plus
  
• Strong communication and presentation skills
  
• Strong analytical and problem solving skills
  
• Strong computer, MS Office skills
  
  
  Key responsibilities*
  
  
  • 
    
  • Evaluation of suppliers in a competitive bid process, develop Request for Proposals (RFP), lead the team to evaluate response, conduct commercial negotiations and select suppliers
    
  • Finalize contracts with selected suppliers and tracks cost savings and avoidance
    
  • Assist in the development of best practices in supplier management for Client Synthes (DPS)
    
  • Ensure selected suppliers are on DPS' Approved Supplier List (ASL)
    
  • Identifying metrics and helping to implement with supply chain teams
    
  • Manage processes for collecting & reporting performance to the leadership, presenting sourcing and supplier management issues, opportunities, and performance
    
  • Support the development of DPS' outsourcing strategy
    
  • Working with leadership and cross functional teams to drive outsourcing strategy
    
  • Issuing Request for Information (RFIs) and RFPs in support of the outsourcing strategy
    
  • Identifying and evaluating suppliers for enhanced partnerships
    
  • Obtaining and understanding cost data
    
  • Negotiating with suppliers and finalizing contracts
    
  • Assisting in the tracking of outsourcing performance
