Summary:
Responsibilities:
This role administers and coordinates the functions and staff in
areas to include: Patient Nutrition Services, Visitor and Staff
Cafes, Catering Foodservice Needs, Meeting Room Assignments and
Vending Refreshment Services. This position is responsible for
approximately 50 FTE's.
This position is responsible for the preparation and maintenance of
the operating and capital budget in the amount of $3,000,000 and
$1,000,000 in retail.
This role establishes, identifies, and ensures systems and
standards to promote patient and customer safety and also safe
practices for delivering patient care. The role manages all caf--
sales systems, including payroll deductions, patient
information/food production/inventory control system, and
sanitation quality assurance system.
This position analyzes department performance in relation to
established goals, implements change to effect continual
improvement in services provided, and ensures compliance with all
internal and external standards as well as regulatory and legal
requirements. Ensures department is in constant compliance with
Joint Commission, State and Federal regulatory agencies. Monitors
Press Ganey Survey results and develops action plans as well as
acknowledges positive results. Benchmarks the department for KPI
against a recognized data base, ie: AHF or US Foods Baseline.
This position is a member of the following hospital committees:
Patient Experience, Awards and Recognition, Recycling, Corporate
Wellness.
Active participation is encouraged for member in a
professional/educational organization such as: The Academy of
Nutrition & Dietetics, Association of Healthcare Food Service or
Association of Nutrition & Food Service Professionals.
Credentials:
CFP ServSafe Food Protection (Required)
Cert Food Manager (Required)
Education or Equivalent Experience:
Bachelor of Arts or Science (Required)
Dietetic/Food Management or Business related degree. 5+ years
Established knowledge of institutional kitchen equipment such as,
patient/inventory/production systems.
Master of Arts or Science
Dietetic/Food Management or Business related degree.
