role, you will support regionally based project teams to
successfully implement community development projects. You will be
responsible for engaging and developing regional and State level
networks and relationships to enable WVA to maximize the impact of
our work. A proven track record in long-term community development
is critical to success in this role.You will oversee the transition
of an early childhood project, ensuring strong collaboration with
First Nations partner organizations and other key stakeholders.This
role also involves the successful implementation of the Western
Australia Regional Area Plan and contributing to broader WVA
fundraising activities.This is a full-time role based in Derby,
Western Australia.Your responsibilities will include:
- Implementing a strategic growth plan for programming in Western
Australia
- Growing partnerships with First Nations organizations
- Supporting Project Managers to deliver activities according to
the annual plan and budgets
- Contributing to scoping, design, partnership development, and
capacity building with First Nations organizations
- Managing incoming supporters, government, and corporate
engagement requests
- Ensuring regional projects comply with operational policies and
respond to issues promptly
- Managing budgets and contracts
- Supporting staff through regular one-on-one meetings
- Collaborating to identify sustainable funding opportunitiesWho
we're looking forYou should have excellent communication,
influencing, and leadership skills, with experience working in the
Australian Indigenous development sector and with remote Aboriginal
communities.You will have:
- Stakeholder engagement and partnership development skills
- An understanding of the cultural, political, economic, and
social issues affecting Aboriginal people in Western Australia
- Knowledge of Western Australian Government Indigenous policies
and programs related to children and youth
- Established relationships within the sector in WA
- Experience in leadership within complex environments
- Proven ability to broker and maintain funding agreements and
collaborations
- Qualifications in social services, community development, or
