Job DescriptionBAE Systems is seeking an experienced Program Area Manager to join our Integrated Defense Solutions team on an exciting program supporting the U.S. Navy's next generation of strategic deterrence. Serving as our Program Area Manager of System Test, reporting to the Deputy Program Manager for System Realization, you will lead a multidisciplinary team of engineers, scientists, and technologists. Your role will encompass system test engineering policy and process definition, design review support, and system test planning and execution for large-scale strategic missile systems. Working on this program means being part of a significant legacy.Position ResponsibilitiesProgram Management

• Manage a portfolio with a $15M annual budget, overseeing cost, schedule, scope, and risk.
• Establish and monitor performance baselines for all activities and deliverables.
• Conduct monthly variance analyses and implement corrective actions.
• Support risk management meetings, presenting risks and mitigation strategies.
• Develop complex engineering estimates and work breakdown structures.Engineering Management
  • Manage execution of system test engineering policies, processes, and deliverables.
  • Ensure quality and compliance of engineering products.
  • Lead adoption of digital and agile engineering practices.
  • Maintain technical standards and oversee technical documentation and submissions.Personnel Management
    • Manage a team of over 30 personnel, including performance reviews, development, and hiring.
    • Lead a high-performance team focused on engineering excellence and innovative solutions.Customer Relationship Management
      • Build and sustain strong relationships with Navy GS-14 and GS-13 level clients.
      • Manage contract performance assessments to exceed expectations.QualificationsRequired: BS in engineering or related field, 10+ years of engineering management experience with $5M+ annual programs, 4+ years leading teams of 15+ engineers, and knowledge of DoD customer interactions.Preferred: MS in engineering, certifications like ASEP or CSEP, experience with digital and agile engineering, and background in missile, space, or nuclear systems.Additional InformationSalary range: $146,670 - $249,330, with comprehensive benefits.
