This role is part of the Microsoft Global Trade Business
Engagement where you will proactively plan to address immediate
Trade related regulatory updates, compliance needs for changing
regulations, and build longer term plans to address emerging
regulatory measures. You will take a strategic view in driving
beyond the day to day and help to build a robust plan for today,
and for tomorrow while implementing and driving for continuous
improvements in processes and structure to pave the way for
innovation and growth by setting standards and priorities.

Responsibilities Stakeholder Engagement Refine strategy,
methodology and framework for consistent engagement with business
stakeholders and establish rhythm of business Provides
consultation, communications, direction, roadmap objectives, and
awareness to senior stakeholders in various business functions in
order to ensure Trade compliance covering Sanctions & Embargoes,
OFAC, and Microsoft screening operations Partners with global
business stakeholders to ensure compliance with trade laws and
regulations in Microsofts numerous jurisdictions. Facilitates an
environment of inclusion that leverages diverse perspectives and
talent, to better represent and understand global customers. Should
be familiar with risk management and IT industry’s standards.
Conduct Executive Briefings Compliance Work closely with Trade
SME’s to provide subject-matter expertise and support related to
various business areas. Perform compliance reviews covering
Sanctions & Embargoes, OFAC, Export controls and Customs related
matters. Interface with cross functional groups to identify and
rectify information/process gaps during the export/import process
Regulatory reporting, management reporting, operational metrics,
visibility, communication, and sharing achievements. Audit Plans
for review of trade controls, compliance reviews, and audits
supporting Microsofts government controlled programs. Identifies
areas for improvement, provides feedback to staff and auditors, and
executes corrective action plans. Reporting Helps the team provide
appropriate data-collection efforts for regulatory obligations.
Manages trade related risk analysis, setting metrics, and defining
the requirements for trade solutions. Ensures data availability for
government reporting. Manages and contributes to the research
development and implementation of reporting and insights across the
enterprise. Forecasts and monitors budgeting requirements. Training
Identifies business training needs and aids in developing training
pertaining to government controlled programs. Coordinates and
facilitates compliance training and change management training for
internal business partners. Oversee the identification of the teams
training needs and the content development process. Continuous
Improvement and AI automation Drives efficiencies for trade
processes by monitoring feedback (e.g., from internal
controllership), determine needed updates, institute policy changes
by overseeing updates for Procedures, and provide executive
communication updates. Challenge the norms; test and verify. Drive
innovation across the organization to support process improvement.
Qualifications Required Qualifications Bachelors Degree in Business
Administration, Law, or related field AND 4 years corporate, trade,
or supply chain experience in an export compliance function OR
Masters Degree in Business Administration, Law, or related field
AND 3 years corporate, trade, or supply chain experience, OR
equivalent experience 3 years of experience in global trade
compliance, supply chain, and compliance business engagement roles
Preferred Qualifications Bachelors Degree in Business
Administration, Law, or related field AND 8 years corporate, trade,
or supply chain experience OR Masters Degree in Business
Administration, Law, or related field AND 6 years corporate, trade,
or supply chain experience, OR equivalent experience Certification
with ECTI (similar export certification program) or equivalent or
in-country professional trade certifications or licenses Experience
in the technology or software sector with understanding of digital
product, services, and cloud trade implications Familiarity with
AI-driven compliance solutions Demonstrated use of business data to
identify and quantify risks and prioritize remediation and
mitigation Additional language skills are a plus Import Export
Trade IC4 - The typical base pay range for this role across the
U.S. is USD $96,500 - $188,400 per year. There is a different range
applicable to specific work locations, within the San Francisco Bay
area and New York City metropolitan area, and the base pay range
for this role in those locations is USD $123,500 - $206,400 per
year.
