OUR NURSE VIRTUAL CHATS EACH THURSDAY FROM 2PM - 3PM
Summary:
This position is responsible for the direct and indirect nursing
care of the patient requiring specialized assessment and
intervention skills on all nursing units.
Other information:
Strong background in assessment and critical thinking skills
Minimum of 2 years critical care experienceCompetencies and comfort
level for working with patients on all units. Capacity to work
independently. Ability to collaborate with professional staff.
Ability to prioritize multiple job requests. Assertive with a
positive attitude. Knowledge of departmental and hospital policies
relevant to the delivery of nursing care. Frequent interactive and
consultative associations are inherent in this position. Desire to
share knowledge and educate other staff members.
Responsibilities:
Support nursing staff, focusing on the less experienced nurses on
each unit. Assess all critical test results and round on patients
with significant findings. Assess all positive sepsis screens and
mentor nurses with sepsis education. Round on all transfers out of
the ICU for a minimum of the first 24 hours. Round on all surgical
patients within the first 12 hours. Attend codes and rapid response
activations. Serve as a resource for vascular access.
Credentials:
Essential:
* RN - Registered Nurse
* BLS - Basic Life Saving certification
* ACLS - Advanced Cardiac Life Support
Competencies and skills:
Essential:
* Experience In Hospital Or Acute Care Setting
* Clear Communication Skills Both Written And Verbal
* Able To Keep Confidential Information Regarding Patients, Team
Members
* Able To Withstand Crisis Situations
* Has Skills To Provides Customer Service To Patients, Team Members
And Visitors
* Knowledge And Experience With Electronic Health Records
Education:
Essential:
* RN Diploma/RN Graduate Program
Location: Hospital-Main Campus
