Job Description:
This position is a Registered Nurse with responsibilities for
assisting with the professional role development of members of the
Nursing Department and other clinical professions as well as the
implementation of interprofessional programming to improve the
quality of care delivered. This position is responsible for
assistance with the joint accreditation application and maintenance
and implementation of accredited continuing education programs.
This position will be the point of contact for the enterprise
nursing continuing professional development program, including
acquisition and maintenance of Joint Accreditation. This includes
leading the pre-application process for nursing including aligning
site processes and procedures to work within Joint Accreditation
guidelines. This includes extensive communication with both nursing
stakeholders across the sites and other education stakeholders.
This position will also act as liaison for interprofessional
continuing education learning management system to identify gaps,
issues, processes, and necessary improvements. Responsible for
educational needs assessment and implementation of continuing
professional development activities. Assists in consolidation and
coordination of nursing continuing professional development
standards across the enterprise. This position s erves as a role
model as an educator, facilitator, change agent, consultant,
researcher, and leader to promote the professional growth of peers
and colleagues. Schedule: Part-time, 20 hours per week. Essential
functions include the following - Utilizes principles of adult
learning to assess and analyze the educational needs of
professional nurses in a team learning environment, identify
educational objectives, plan and implement educational activities,
and conduct a comprehensive evaluation of educational activities.
Maintains professional practice knowledge base, including
departmental and organizational policies, standards of care, and
procedures. Communicates with nursing stakeholders regarding Joint
Accreditation application status, tasks, feedback, program
development and criteria. Participates in and uses evidence-based
research to identify strategies to improve professional development
activities, nursing practice, and patient outcomes. Oversees Joint
Accreditation standards to assure compliance with minimum threshold
requirements. Provides consultation and resources to Nurse
Managers, Nurse Leaders, CME staff, Professional Development
Specialists, interprofessional team members , education planning
committee and staff of the patient care areas and collaborates to
identify learning needs. Acts as liaison with interprofessional
learning management system for nursing needs and requirements.
Designs enterprise accreditation record keeping and creates and
maintains a user-friendly education catalog. Utilizes skilled oral,
written, and electronic communication to communicate effectively
and to foster collegial relationships both intra- and
interdepartmentally. Models professional behaviors including
involvement in professional organizations, engagement in lifelong
learning activities, dissemination of information through
publications and presentations, and involvement in nursing research
activities. Demonstrates clinical expertise through research,
demonstration, observation and teaching of clinical skills.
Qualifications: Master's Degree required Active RN state
licensure
