Job Description Job Description Job Title: Registered Nurse – Emergency Room (ER) Location: Salem, VA Position Type: Permanent | Contingent Shifts: Full-Time | Days, Nights, Evenings, Mixed (Rotating Weekends) Position Summary The Emergency Room Registered Nurse provides high-quality, patient-centered care in a fast-paced acute care emergency department. This role involves caring for patients of all ages with conditions ranging from minor injuries to critical emergencies, while collaborating closely with the healthcare team to ensure safe and effective outcomes. Key Responsibilities Triage, assess, and treat patients in the Emergency Department Provide care for multiple patients simultaneously, prioritizing based on acuity Deliver calm, professional care in high-pressure situations Collaborate with physicians, patients, families, and interdisciplinary teams Coordinate follow-up care and referrals as needed Maintain accurate, timely, and concise documentation Ensure patient safety and adherence to clinical standards at all times Qualifications Diploma or Associate Degree in Nursing (required) BSN or enrollment in a BSN program (preferred) Active Virginia RN license or multistate compact RN license eligible to practice in VA BLS certification required Minimum 1 year of RN Emergency Room experience in an acute care setting considered Med-Surg RNs considered for cross-training for night shifts only Skills & Abilities Strong clinical judgment and critical thinking skills Ability to manage high patient volumes in a dynamic environment Excellent communication and teamwork skills Patient-focused approach with attention to safety and quality of care Company Description LanceSoft is rated as one of the largest staffing firms in the US by SIA.
