Job Description:
MedStar Health, a leading non-profit healthcare organization in
the D.C.-Maryland-Virginia region, is seeking a Director of Nursing
(RN) specializing in Psychiatry to provide visionary leadership and
oversee the psychiatric nursing operations in our mental health
facilities. The successful candidate will be crucial in enhancing
the quality of patient care, ensuring compliance with the
healthcare regulations, and leading initiatives to foster a
collaborative, patient-first environment. This role is pivotal in
developing clinical policies, managing nursing staff, and
integrating innovative psychiatric care practices. Develop and
implement strategic plans for the psychiatric nursing department.
Oversee clinical practice and management of nursing staff across
multiple facilities. Ensure compliance with healthcare regulations
and standards. Collaborate with healthcare professionals to
integrate mental health services with other patient care services.
Manage budgets, staffing, and resource allocation efficiently. Lead
training and development sessions for nursing staff. Evaluate
patient care procedures and make improvements as necessary.
Leadership and administrative capabilities in a healthcare setting.
Expert knowledge of psychiatric nursing practices. Strong
organizational and communication skills. Ability to manage budgets,
staffing, and resource planning. Capable of strategic planning and
problem-solving. Medical Insurance Dental Insurance Vision
Insurance 401k Current Registered Nurse (RN) license. Certified
Psychiatric Nurse (CPN) credential is highly desirable.
