Job Description Job Description About the Role: The Certified
Nursing Assistant (CNA) in an Assisted Living (AL) setting plays a
critical role in providing compassionate and personalized care to
residents, ensuring their comfort, safety, and well-being. This
position involves assisting residents with activities of daily
living such as bathing, dressing, grooming, and mobility, while
also monitoring their health status and reporting any changes to
nursing staff. The CNA AL serves as a vital link between residents
and the healthcare team, fostering a supportive environment that
promotes dignity and independence. Through effective communication
and empathy, the CNA helps to create a positive living experience
for residents in the assisted living community. Ultimately, this
role contributes significantly to the overall quality of care and
life for elderly or disabled individuals residing in the facility.
Minimum Qualifications: - Current and valid Certified Nursing
Assistant (CNA) certification recognized in the state of
employment. - Completion of a state-approved CNA training program.
- Basic knowledge of resident care and safety procedures. - Ability
to pass a background check and meet health screening requirements.
- Strong communication skills and the ability to work effectively
as part of a healthcare team. Preferred Qualifications: -
Experience working in an assisted living or long-term care
facility. - CPR and First Aid certification. - Familiarity with
electronic health record (EHR) systems. - Additional training in
dementia or Alzheimer’s care. - Bilingual abilities to better serve
diverse resident populations. Responsibilities: - Assist residents
with personal care tasks including bathing, dressing, toileting,
and grooming to maintain their hygiene and comfort. - Support
residents with mobility and transfers, ensuring safety and
preventing falls or injuries. - Monitor and document residents’
vital signs, behaviors, and any changes in physical or mental
condition, promptly reporting concerns to nursing staff. - Provide
companionship and emotional support to residents, encouraging
social interaction and participation in community activities. -
Maintain a clean, safe, and organized environment by following
infection control protocols and assisting with housekeeping duties
as needed. Skills: The CNA AL utilizes strong interpersonal and
communication skills daily to build trusting relationships with
residents and collaborate with healthcare team members. Attention
to detail and observational skills are essential for accurately
monitoring residents’ health and reporting changes promptly.
Physical stamina and dexterity are required to assist with mobility
and personal care tasks safely and effectively. Time management and
organizational skills help the CNA prioritize duties and maintain a
clean, safe environment. Preferred skills such as familiarity with
EHR systems and specialized dementia care training enhance the
CNA’s ability to provide tailored, high-quality care to residents
with diverse needs. Morning Shift 7AM-3PM Evening Shift 3PM-11PM
