Account Manager - Advanced Performance Materials

Chemours is seeking an Account Manager to join our high performing team! This position will be part of the sales function and report directly to the Americas Sales Director – Advanced Performance Materials in our Wilmington, DE location (or will consider remote location within the United States).  This position is a highly visible, key role within the company as we catalyze a commercial excellence culture!

The Account Manager is primarily responsible for selling products and/or services to and maintaining relationships with existing accounts. Will work autonomously within an assigned territory or customer base and manage all aspects of the selling process. Administers sales policies and programs to meet sales and profit goals for the territory. Promotes and sells custom product offerings; has deep knowledge of product and/or services.

The responsibilities of the position include, but are not limited to, the following:

  • Strengthen profitable revenue growth by identifying and qualifying leads, close opportunities and manage an active 24 month sales pipeline at existing customers

  • Understand how customers use Chemours products and identify solutions to aid in customer growth including an in-depth knowledge of key decision makers, influencers, coaches, and detractors

  • Develop market intelligence of customer business model, benchmarked relative to their competition and effectively communicate strategic importance to internal stakeholders

  • Develop strategy for the customer account to achieve target results, including execution of pricing initiatives and standard terms 

  • Communicate key drivers of customer demand and update accurate forecasts consistent with market indicators while monitoring purchases relative to forecasts

  • Agilely use specified tools to enter and consult relevant data (pricing, contact info, call reports, forecasting, etc.)

  • Gathers and communicates relevant competitive intelligence through customer interactions (market pricing, supply situation,

  • Meaningful teamwork with Marketing, Customer Service, Demand Planning, Supply Chain, and other relevant functions

  • Willing and able to travel up to 20% of the time and use virtual tools for effective customer communication

To be qualified for this role, you must possess the following:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in a science-related discipline OR will consider Business Administration, Sales, Marketing, etc. combined with experience

  • 5 - 7 + years experience in a customer-facing role, responsible for a book of business of customer relationships in sales and negotiations

  • Highly motivated and dependable

  • Demonstrated ability to effectively guide multiple priorities in a dynamic fast-paced environment

  • Thorough oral, written and interpersonal skills including a polished phone presence, must be able to establish credibility with customers

The following skill sets are preferred by the business unit:

  • Bachelor's Degree or higher in a science-related discipline (Chemistry, engineering, etc.)

  • Experience in specialty chemical to automotive AND/OR aerospace value chains.
