Job Summary
As a Researcher in Bioanalytical and Biochemistry Development, the individual will be responsible for basic protein preparation and analytical analyses, including, but not limited to, SDS-PAGE, concentration determination, pI analysis, buffer preparation. In addition, the individual will be expected to prepare samples for inventory and/or shipment, calibrate and maintain basic laboratory equipment, order supplies, and assist in maintaining an in-house physical and electronic inventory of protein/antibody reagents and test samples. The individual will be expected to train on and assist in protein purification processes.
The role requires entry-level knowledge and experience in laboratory techniques, and the ability to execute experiments and interpret data guided by direct supervision. Requires demonstrated effectiveness in collaboration and the ability to communicate effectively with scientists in the organization.

Essential Functions

1. Ideation and Execution
" Execute experiments under direct supervision, conducting research activities within established guidelines
" Perform protein purification and analytical analyses under guidance of supervisor.
" Maintain physical and electronic reagent and test sample inventory.
" Participate in discussion and review of new efforts 80%
2. Equipment and Procedures
" Review the effectiveness of current laboratory equipment and suggest ways to better manage available equipment within research programs
" Test standard procedures to provide recommendations for improvement for use across programs 5%
3. Information Management and Communication
" Document research plans
" Contribute to information database development
" Independently review and share experimental results with project management
" Contribute to preparation and submission of patents and scientific publications and regulatory documents 5%
4. Project Management
" Collect and collate results and inferences to report to project team and senior colleagues
" Collaborate effectively with fellow project members to accomplish team goals in an efficient manner on time and within budget 5%
5. Training
Complete all required training in a timely manner 5%

Knowledge/Skills/Abilities Required
- BS in Biochemistry / Biotechnology, Biology, Immunology or related field
- 1-2 years of academic, pharmaceutical, or biotech experience.
- Basic laboratory and analytical skills required
- Ability to analyze, interpret and effectively present data at group meetings
- Motivation to be part of a high performance, efficient scientific team.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills. Committed to working synergistically and harmoniously with others.
