A position of histotechnologist is available for the
Histopathology core facility to participate in all activities of
this laboratory working in close collaboration with the facility
pathologists and facility histotechnologist.
The main responsibilities of this position are:
Processing of tissues from different species such as rodents, fish
and humans (this includes: Grossing, processing paraffin and frozen
blocks, microtomy, cryomicrotomy, staining and mounting microscopic
Immunohistochemistry using commercial and newly developed
Handling, orienting, and processing small tissues such as mouse
embryos, cell pellets, and organoids for serial sectioning.
Maintaining the Facility's databases.
Experience in a histology/pathology laboratory setting.
Demonstrated abilities and experience in handling tissues for
histological, pathological and embryological studies.
Strong ability to interact easily with research and clinical
Superb time management skills.
Be well organized and highly motivated.
Ability to work with various personalities and manage
simultaneously multiple projects and duties as well as an ability
to communicate clearly are necessary assets to be successful in
Bachelors Degree : Physical or Biological Sciences (Required)
Masters Degree : Physical or Biological Sciences (Preferred)
Combination of relevant education and experience may be considered
in lieu of degree.
Licenses and Certifications
ASCP certified H.T. - American Society Clinical Pathology
2 Years experience working as a Scientific Technician II at FCCC or
equivalent experience (Required)
General experience and familiarity with common lab tools and
