seeking a Manufacturing Technician Level 2 or 3 to join our team at
our Elkton, Maryland location.The Northrop Grumman Propulsion
Systems and Controls (PS&C) facility in Elkton, Maryland began
solid-propellant rocket operations in 1948. Today, the Elkton
PS&C facility designs, develops, and produces solid-propellant
propulsion and ordnance systems in programs professionally managed
for a wide variety of Government and commercial customers. The
facility also serves as the hub for offsite engineering and test
facilities in Ronkonkoma, NY and Palm Beach Gardens, FL.Elkton,
Maryland is located on the Upper Chesapeake Bay, midway between
Philadelphia and Baltimore. Discover charming small towns, parks
with miles of trails, specialty and antique shops, award winning
restaurants, and inns. You can hike, bike, camp, bird watch, ride
horseback, or drop a fishing line. Five rivers, Chesapeake Bay and
the C&D Canal can be explored by boat or by land. Experience

the directions of supervision and lead technicians for the
fabrication of rocket motors. Works with chemicals during the
processing of rocket motor components.Candidate must be able to
read and follow written or electronic manufacturing instructions.
Must be able to work closely with non-manufacturing personnel to
meet build requirements and schedules.Safe handling of hazardous
materials in accordance with OSHA and company policies.Operate
production equipment such as mixers, presses, lathes, scales,
hoists, forklift, ovens, autoclaves and computers. Operate various
instruments such as verniers, durometers, height gage and
resistance meters.Support many areas of manufacturing such as -
Ordnance, Casting, Insulation, Final Assembly, and Lining when work
load requires additional labor.This requisition may be filled at
either a Manufacturing Technician 2 or Manufacturing Technician 3,
depending on years of experience and qualifications.Basic
Qualifications Manufacturing Technician 2:High School Diploma2-4
years overall work experience within a manufacturing
environment.Hands on manufacturing vs. automation
experienceMulti-tasked, the ability to work on more than one thing
at a timeGood reading and math skills.Exposure to Chemistry and
vocational training such as woodworking, metal working or
mechanical training.Must be able to be certified for respirator
use, competent to be trained in forklift and hoist operation.Must
be able to work modified shifts, overtime and weekends, if needed,
and have some flexible working hours to staff production needs.Blue
print reading fundamentals are required or the aptitude to learn
blue print reading.Must be a U.S. Citizen and be able to obtain a
DoD Secret Clearance.Basic Qualifications Manufacturing Technician
3:High School Diploma4-6 years overall work experience within a
manufacturing environment.Hands on manufacturing vs. automation
experienceAble to fabricate components out of rubberAble to
organize and plan daily workMulti-tasked, the ability to work on
more than one thing at a timeGood reading and math skills.Exposure
to Chemistry and vocational training such as soldering,
woodworking, metal working, or mechanical training.Must be able to
be certified for respirator use, competent to be trained in
forklift and hoist operation.Must be able to work modified shifts,

Requirements:Experience in a manufacturing, assembly or mechanics
positionDefense Industry experienceComputer knowledge in Microsoft
Office applications such as Excel and WordFamiliar with Continuous
Improvement, Lean Manufacturing and 5S principlesThis position
falls under a Federal Explosives License issued by the Bureau of
Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives (ATF) for this location.
Candidates hired into this role will be required to complete and
submit an Employee Possessor Questionnaire to ATF for approval to
be a possessor."Salary Range: $43,800 USD - $73,000 USDSalary Range
2: $52,100 USD - $86,800 USDEmployees may be eligible for a
discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are
designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow
employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President
or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives. In
