Job DescriptionShipping, Receiving, & Staging Specialist Job Description OverallEffectively manage all activities of shipping, receiving and staging of parts and equipment, people and processes, for the Material Handling division of OAN. Proactively seek solutions to daily challenges and successfully develop and complete approved improvement initiatives on behalf of OA Newton. • Reviews shipping notices for accuracy and delivery schedule
• Determines shipping priorities per Sales Order schedules
• Strives for cost savings by looking for most economical and expedient shipping means possible when not otherwise specified on Sales Order
• Works to ensure correct method of shipping and invoicing per Sales Order instructions
• Compares identifying information and counts, weighs or measures items for outgoing shipments to verify information against Sales Orders and other shipping paperwork
• Organize, effectively pack, and appropriately label all outbound packages for shipping using best practice standards
• Help load OA Newton delivery trucks to ensure safe and damage free transit
• Maintain inventory of shipping materials and supplies using visual inventory system and transport equipment available
• Maintain United Parcel Service (UPS) ship records and system software Receiving
  • Unload incoming parts for inventory from delivery trucks, staging them in a temporary location until the truck is completely unloaded
  • Take supervisory role in unloading incoming shipments where multiple employees are required or where shipping company liability concerns prohibit performance of direct labor
  • Receive goods into OA Newton M2M inventory system, noting location and bin per OA Newton facility map
  • Unpack and inspect incoming shipments, reject damaged items, record shortages (& overages) and reconcile with purchasing or other OA Newton departments to account for discrepancies
  • Physically route items received from temporary staging area to appropriate departments or inventory locations
  • Stock shelves as needed/as available for OA Newton parts room team
  • Maintain storage yard and storage buildings cleanliness and orderliness and that all bulk inventory in those locations is physically in its proper place and duly noted in the M2M inventory item master Staging
    • Pick, organize, stage and issue materials in a timely manner for fabrication job orders, proactively locating missing parts and paperwork to satisfy build schedules for the fabrication shop
    • Deliver or coordinate delivery of said materials to fabrication shop as required by the job order and fabrication shop supervisor
    • Pick, organize, stage and issue materials in a timely manner for installation job orders, proactively locating missing parts and paperwork to satisfy installation schedules for the site crews
    • Coordinate delivery of materials to contract job sites with the site crew supervisor
    • Using the tools provided by M2M and other systems, pick, organize, stage and issue materials in a timely manner for consolidated parts orders and other non-contract sales orders
