Commercial Equipment Financing Sales Representative

Job Description:


This position is primarily responsible for providing the bank's customers and prospects with Equipment Financing solutions, through the utilization of Tax, Non-Tax, Tax Exempt and Loan financing products in the Philadelphia region and state of Delaware.

Business Development and Prospecting are the key activities for the position.


Work closely with the Group Managers and Middle Market Relationship Managers (for both C&I and CRE business units) in concert with M&T Bank credit officers to identify equipment financing opportunities for new business development. Provide the guidance necessary to close and book these transactions. In addition, responsible for the continued oversight of these transactions and will assist in servicing these accounts as needed by the customer.


--- Act in the role of the in-market business partner that identifies, processes, and closes equipment financing opportunities that meet the Bank's credit and profitability guidelines.

--- Provide training to the commercial bank's Relationship Managers on the value of Commercial Equipment Financing solutions to the Bank and its clients.

--- Participate regionally in the formal relationship planning process.

--- Contribute at all regional staff and community banking meetings.

--- Follow equipment and market trends, and accounting standards in equipment finance.

--- Participate in civic and community activities with an emphasis on volunteerism and board participation.

--- Adhere to applicable compliance/operational risk controls in accordance with Company or regulatory standards and policies.

--- Maintain M&T internal control standards, including timely implementation of internal and external audit points together with any issues raised by external regulators as applicable.

--- Promote an environment that supports diversity and reflects the M&T Bank brand.

Education and Experience Required:
Bachelor's Degree (major in business or finance preferred but not mandatory)

10 years of equipment finance industry experience

Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to interact with all levels of personnel using diplomacy.

--- Excellent organizational and time management skills --- Knowledge of the principles of equipment financing structure, credit analysis and accounting (depreciation) standards.

--- Strong computer skills coupled with the ability to utilize and analyze financial models.

--- Financial analysis and knowledge of credit principals.
